Hige's Collar is not only a dog collar, but is also a tracking device. It is one of the features that Hige retains in both his human-guise and wolf-form.
Appearance[]
The collar has a very simple design. It appears to be made out of a stiff, brown material with a metal plate. The symbol on the plate varies from collar to collar. One Hige's collar, the symbol is the 23rd letter (Х, xa) in the Russian alphabet.
Plot[]
When the wolves get to Lost City, Lady Jaguara is notified by one of her servants that "number 23 is in the city."; referring to Hige.
It is later revealed that it was because of Hige's collar that Lady Jaguar's troops were able to find and kill the wolf packs he'd joined.
When Tsume is captured and later escapes his confines in Jaguara's Keep, he stumbles into a room full of Hige's old pack members —who were in service to Lady Jaguara. To his horror, he discovers the several pack members had been made into taxidermy trophies. Two of the wolves seen had the 14th (М, эм) and 16th (О, o) letters of the Russian alphabet on their collars.
Usage[]
Hige's Collar has three known uses:
- As a tracking-device; pin pointing the wearer's location.
- ID; it gives a very basic form of identification to distinguish multiple wearers from one another.
- Mind-control/brainwashing-device; Lady Jaguara's city has technology that controls whomever is wearing the collar, by proxy of the wearer developing a migraine when in the city; which in turn is used to steer them.
