Leara (リアラ , Riara) was a young girl that Toboe met in Freeze City. She lived with her father and cared for a pet falcon.
Appearance[]
Leara was a small, young girl with a dark complexion and thin frame. She had long, dark brown hair and lavender eyes. She wore an off white shirt under two jackets, the first a greenish-charcoal color and the second a baggier, cream-colored winter coat with a fur-lined hood. Hinting at a level of poverty, the jackets are closed together with safety pins rather than buttons. She also wore a beanie hat with a badge-pin on the rim (yellow and geometric, reminiscent of a canine's head) to match her inner coat and a red scarf. To cover her legs, she wore a red-plaid pleated skirt with black leggings, dark-brown leg-warmers, and red Converse.
Personality[]
Leara is depicted as a quiet, kind girl. When she first meets Toboe, she offers him a link of sausages despite the fact that she and her father may very well be living in need. Despite her kindness, she is still a young child and is easily frightened. When Toboe reveals himself as a wolf to her, transforming from his human disguise in a moment of sorrow, Leara is scared to the point of hysterics.
Plot[]
After shopping with her father, Leara accidentally drops a potato from the bag she's carrying. Toboe (in wolf form) goes to eat it but flees when Leara comes to retrieve it. When she sees him hiding behind a box, she offers him a few sausages. Toboe approaches hesitantly, only taking the sausages after Leara glares at some nearby crows and takes a bite of one herself. He then thanks her by licking her hand and letting her pet him before her father calls her away.
Later, Toboe approaches her in human form and thanks her for feeding his dog (after a bit of a flub, telling her that they share the same name). She seems to take a liking to Toboe and, seeking companionship, he is smitten with her. However, as with his previous owner, Toboe's pup mentality gets him in trouble again. In an effort to please and impress Leara, he tries to retrieve her falcon for her when she sets it loose to feed but kills it in the act. He excitedly places it in Leara's hands but, when he realizes it's dead, turns into a wolf and howls in remorse. The sight freezes Leara with fear and, before she can react, Toboe is whisked away by Tsume.
The next day, Leara finds Toboe in the same alley. Toboe tries to explain that he revealed his wolf form to her so she could trust him, but she rejects him, saying that he is "not normal". This breaks Toboe's heart. After the wolves leave the city, Leara is not seen again in the series.

At first, Leara and Toboe seemed to have a close friendship in the making. But when Toboe accidentally kills her pet falcon and reveals his true form, Leara becomes afraid of him; severing their budding friendship before it had a chance to really start.

Leara obeys her father and helps him with chores.
